Are residents' fares available?

GNV offers a discount to residents and natives of Sicily and Sardinia, extended to their family members and vehicles. To obtain the discounted fare, you must declare your eligibility during booking and present the required documents at boarding. The request can be made online, via Contact Centre, travel agency or ticket office. Failure to provide documentation will require the purchase of a new ticket at full fare. The discount does not apply if only the children are residents or on certain departures. For Morocco, the "ÉTÉ fi BLEDI" fare is available with variable cancellation fees.

Can I transport a vehicle powered by LPG on GNV ferries?

LPG-powered vehicles must be declared to GNV staff upon boarding. They will be parked in a designated area within the ship's garage. During the crossing, the shut-off valves on the gas tank must remain closed.

Travelling with your pet

Pets are welcome to travel with GNV if included in the ticket booking. All species legally owned according to the regulations in force in the passenger's country of residence are allowed on board. Dedicated accommodation is available for cats and dogs, while other animals, such as rabbits, birds and hamsters, must travel in carriers owned by the passenger. Animals are not allowed in the seating lounges or communal areas, but they can access the outer decks for walks with their owner and the pet-friendly "Amici a 4 zampe" (4-legged friends) cabins, designed to ensure maximum comfort during the crossing. To board a pet, it is mandatory to have the required health documents, a lead, a muzzle (for dogs) and a hygiene kit. For journeys to/from Spain, a microchip, valid rabies vaccination and pet passport are required. GNV collaborates with ENPA in the fight against stray animals, offering special cabins to volunteers transporting abandoned animals.
