Travelling with your pet on board Tirrenia ferries is comfortable and safe. Make sure you have a ticket for them, their rabies vaccination certificate (if required) and a valid medical certificate. You can walk your pet on the outer decks, while access to common areas is not permitted. If you prefer to keep them with you at all times, you can book a pet-friendly cabin, equipped with linoleum flooring and a sanitising mat. Bring everything you need: health record book, food, water, bowls, lead, muzzle and poop bags. Never leave your pet unattended, always keep them on a lead and, if necessary, use the muzzle. With the right care, the journey will be calm and pleasant for both of you.
Can I use roaming on board?
During the crossing, maritime roaming is active, allowing you to stay connected thanks to satellite links managed by third parties. The applicable rates are higher and not included in standard price plans valid in Italy and the European Union. If travelling with a vehicle, the discount applies exclusively to vehicles registered to the resident or native. It is important to know that resident and native fares also apply to family members. Specifically, the spouse, children, or dependent minors of a resident or native can benefit from the discount if travelling with the resident or native, by presenting proof of family status. If, however, these family members are travelling without the resident or native, they will need to present, in addition to proof of family status, their own identification and a copy of the resident's or native's identification document. Ferry companies also cater to the needs of all passengers, offering reduced fares for blind passengers and their companions. If you are travelling as a blind passenger with a companion, the companion travels free of charge, while you will pay the full fare. If you are travelling without a companion, you will receive a 30% discount on the fare. Remember to check the required documentation for discounted fares and bring it with you during your journey. Failure to do so may result in having to purchase a new ticket at full fare.
