Cookie Policy
"Cookie" technology is used to obtain information relating to a user's experience on a website. It also enables the functioning of some services that require tracking a user's path and navigation across various web pages.
What are cookies?
A "cookie" is information sent from a server to a browser, which allows the server to collect information from the browser and vice versa. The cookie helps a website recognize a user's device if the site is visited again.
The use of cookies has various purposes, including: helping to remember login credentials and any preferences, analyzing the performance of a site to improve its usability, and allowing the suggestion of content deemed to be of interest to a specific user.
Cookies are normally anonymous and cannot be linked to a user's personal data. First-party cookies are associated with the domain name of the page being visited and allow identifying the person through a cross-reference with a database. They can be assigned only upon the explicit request of the user in order to allow immediate identification to access restricted areas without having to manually enter login credentials (username and password).
The user's identity is never, in any case, directly included in the cookie and cannot be intercepted.
Every time you access the site, regardless of the presence or absence of a cookie, the browser type, operating system, and host are recorded along with the visitor/user's source URL, as well as information about the requested page. These data can be used in an aggregated and anonymous form to perform statistical analysis on website usage.
What kind of cookies do we use?
For the purposes of tracking, web statistics, and advertising activities, we use tools that use cookies such as:
- Google AdWords – for remarketing/retargeting advertising activities;
- Google Analytics – for tracking, web statistics, and remarketing/retargeting advertising activities;
- Brevo – for navigation tracking and sending personalized newsletters;
The cookies used on the website are divided into 4 types: strictly necessary, performance, functionality, and targeting. The site does not collect personal data and information relating to the individual, unless they voluntarily decide to enter them. The user can therefore navigate the site without disclosing any identifiable personal data, including the email address. However, by choosing to disable cookies, some sections of the site may not function properly.
1. Strictly necessary cookies
They are essential for the proper functioning of the website. These cookies allow the provision of services requested by users and the navigation of the site using its best performance. They cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the proper functioning of the site.
2. Performance and functionality cookies
They collect anonymous information on the pages visited by a user. They are used to track the most searched pages and are useful for improving the links between pages and determining the reason for possible error messages. Functionality cookies store choices made by a user to improve the online browsing experience.
3. Targeting or advertising cookies
They collect information about a user's browsing habits to propose advertising in line with specific expressed interests. Sensitive data is not tracked.
What happens to cookies that have been downloaded in the past?
Cookies are read and written solely based on the preference level indicated in the cookie settings tool. Cookies present before changing the settings remain on the computer and can be removed using the browser settings.
Additional information on the cookie settings tool
A specific cookie is used to remember a user's preferences within the cookie settings tool. Therefore, if all cookies are deleted, you must update your preferences again when you revisit the site.
If a device, computer, or browser different from the one normally used is used, the preferences must be reset again.
Can we know if a user opens the emails sent to them?
The emails (newsletters) sent by Ticketferries can communicate information relating to the opening and fruition (click) of an email/newsletter. This information can be used for different purposes, such as content analysis (understanding which messages aroused the most interest).
The data is lost when the email is deleted: from that moment on it will no longer be possible to collect any additional data; only those already collected will simply be retained.
